We've managed to complete our dossier while we're waiting. Tim is going to get everything certified at the county on Thursday and then he will take everything to Montgomery on Monday.
The last step is Houston for authentications and then it's off to our new agency (that's the mystery)

Our precious son
One in every 600 babies are born with cleft lip and/or palate.
To me, he is perfect and beautiful. We know there are many surgeries and therapy sessions in our future. We love him and we will do whatever it takes to bring him home and give him all the love and support he needs.

Update !
I only have about 6 readers on this blog so sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself when I post here. Today's a happy day, we received an update from the orphanage! If you're just now joining the blog, please read the older posts first so you can see what's going on. I'm still not confident enough to share this news with everyone, there are way too many obstacles in our way right now but we believe that if this is the child that God has chosen for us, we will bring him home!
1. Does his name have any special meaning?
Because he is handsome, he has beautiful skin and eyes, we named him Yu Jun.
2. Is he close to any special nanny? What is her name?
Her name is Li Zhi Qing.
3. What is his favorite food?
He likes sweet food. His favorite food is formula.
4. How would you describe his personality?
He is fairly extroverted, strong willed, and impatient sometimes. But he is gentle, has a ready smile, and likes to play with other children.
5. Has he received any surgeries to repair his cleft?
No.
6. Does he have a special friend or crib mate? What is his/her name?
He has a special friend that he really likes. Her name is Yu Xin Yue. She was born on May 21, 2007.
7. Do you have his finding ad? Could we get a copy?
Yes. We will give you a copy when you come to get him.
8. What is his favorite food? Same questions as No. 3. I have changed it to favorite activity.
He likes to sit in a walker and “walk” around.
9. Does the orphanage need anything in particular?
We need a automatic blood-pressure meter.
10. Can we send him a care package?
Yes.

Not sure what to think
I asked Tim to call AH every 30 minutes today and leave messages until he gets to talk to someone. In the mean time, I decided to start calling the other offices listed on their website.
Someone answered the phone in PA and said that AH has closed. I told her that I have been trying for days to get in touch with someone and find out about our case. She said she was sorry and that the only people there are volunteers answering the phone and she could not help me. *sigh*
update: Stacey called Tim back today and said that we should keep working on our dossier.
Oh, and our PA date is 6/26, not 6/30! Guess we better get busy so we will have everything ready to go when we find out who our new agency will be.

No news.......
I hope that means it's good news, but I'm not so sure in this case.
We met with our social worker today to give her our updated medicals and financials.
We're way heavier than we were when we started 2 years ago, and the bank account is way lighter!
Our phone calls and emails have gone unanswered. I'll update as soon as we get any information.

Never give up
Let me attempt to update you on what's going on.
We believe that AH is going to transfer all families who are in the process to another agency.
They do not yet know who that agency will be and they hope to have more information soon.
Well, thanks to our wonderful FCC family, we have spoke with a caring, Christian agency that said they would love to handle our case. (Thank you Connie!!)
So, I wrote to AH and am waiting on a response to see if they will agree to let the agency of our choice take over.
Life lessons are hard. Sometimes (most of the the time) they hurt. I believe this lesson is DON'T GIVE UP
Ironically, Sunday's message at church touched on this: What if Jesus had given up on us when he was hanging on the cross in agony. What if he had cried out to God to send the angels to rescue him and take him away from there. What would have happened? There would have been no resurrection and no chance for eternity with Him. He did not give up on us; so we can never give up on Him!

A broken heart
My heart is breaking. Last week we found out our adoption agency was denied Hague accreditation and here's an email we received today from AH. We were supposed to meet with our social worker tomorrow to finish our home study update and that would have completed our dossier. That meeting has been cancelled. What a true test of faith. I'm tired. I'm tired of crying and worrying. I want to trust everything will be ok, but I'm too numb to feel anything right now. I know everything will work out in the end. It may not work out like we want or feel it should, but as long as we continue to trust in Him nothing else should matter. His grace is enough.

In recent weeks, the majority of the staff has been asked to cut back their hours in an attempt to maintain greater financial security. Unfortunately, after meeting with our lawyers and examining the situation, we will have to close down the agency. Though I do not have many details at this time, we will be notifying all families when the closure will take place and how each case will be handled.
Please rest assured that your adoption will not be jeopardized. We are currently working with our licensing entities to find out how to transition all cases to another, accredited agency in the best way possible. We will make sure that no family’s process with be compromised, but will continue on course. In recent months, and after the implementation of the Hague Convention, a number of agencies have had to close their doors as well. Our licensing agencies will ensure that all families are taken care of in the best possible manner to complete their placement/finalization smoothly.
Again, I am very saddened to have to deliver this news today. As more details become available, we will be passing that information along to you. In the meantime, we will continue to conduct business as normal. I apologize for sending this information via email, but I wanted to reach all of my families in a timely manner, and I would not be able to do so with individual phone calls. That being said, and knowing that there are still a lot of gray areas, if you have any questions that you would like to speak with me about, please feel free to email or call me. Pulling our first dossier
I've been so afraid of contacting our original adoption agency and asking to withdraw our first dossier (which has been in China since 1/15/07). Last night that agency sent out an email to all families letting us know that their Hague accreditation has been denied. WOW.
How can it be any clearer than that? It is time for us to contact them and have our original petition to adopt withdrawn. It is a little scary because there is still so much that could go wrong with our new dossier (paperwork) but it's like I told my dear friend Monica, it's time for me to trust in God and let things fall into place according to His will !

Working on dossier # 2
We've been working on our dossier and it seems like it's much harder the second time around. Everything that could go wrong has. Tim had to get his employment letter 3 times before they got it right. We got the police clearance letters last week and had to go back today and request them again because our zip code was wrong. We went to the Dr today and well, let's just say he was not too excited about all the paperwork and blood work that we needed. I'm not sure the paperwork we received will be ok because the nurse filled out part of it and then the Dr filled out the rest in a different colored pen!
On top of that, I found out today that the life insurance that I signed up for at work during open enrollment did not get submitted to the ins company. Oh I pray they can fix it now.
I decided to start a journal for Reed so that he can look back on this someday and hopefully realize how much we want and need him to be in our lives and how we will do anything in our power to bring him home and love him forever!
